If you or your organization are looking for a fun and creative way to promote wellness and reduce stress,
join us for a
HealthRHYTHMSTM Group Empowerment Drumming TM Circle, and/or,
one of our other personalized rhythm-based music therapy or wellness programs.

The latest drumming and wellness research suggests the value and benefits of participating in an active music-making activity with rhythm instruments: reduction of physical stress, improved immunity, emotional stress release, social connection, personal renewal, and improved relationships with others/team/management.  These are just a few of the impressive outcomes.  This innovative and fun personal self-care and wellness enhancement program requires no previous musical experience and focuses not on performance but personal empowerment.  This evidence-based (fancy way of saying well-researched and tested) program/protocol has been used in hospitals, corporations, educational settings, health and wellness centers, and offered via community venues to the public at large.   All instruments are provided, or participants are welcome to bring their own world percussion. Program can meet for four to six 1-hour sessions, as a single session, or can be tailored depending on venue and organizational goals.

We are happy to announce the addition of the BEAT THE ODDS  program to our music therapy consulting curriculum. Here's a description:

"Beat the Odds integrates activities from contemporary drum circles and group counseling to teach skills to children in focusing and listening, team building, leadership, expressing feelings, managing anger/stress, empathy and gratitude... It is inclusive, culturally relevant, and does not bear the stigma of therapy."

"UCLA researchers have shown that Beat the Odds can significantly improve a spectrum of behavior problems in children, such as inattention, withdrawn/depression, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, attention deficit/hyperactivity, oppositional defiance, and sluggish cognitive tempo."

Giselle Felicia Vivian, BM CHT provides rhythm-based music therapy consultations, facilitator mentoring and program development for specialized populations.  Click here to contact her about your organizations needs.
